January is Gasparilla time in the Tampa Bay area. Gasparilla is a pirate festival celebrating the legendary Jose Gaspar, a mythical Spanish pirate who supposedly terrorized the waters of Southwest Florida in the early 1800s. We are planning to join in the festivities here at LSR with our own Gasparilla themed dance on Saturday, January 26 starting at 7:30 pm, featuring the music of Tom Davis. We welcome you to join us and encourage you to discover your inner swashbuckler and dress up if you dare! Lots of prizes including one for best costume! Tickets are $5 and will go on sale at Monday morning coffee early in January.
